Why This Fourth of July Is Especially Risky

When someone gets behind the wheel after drinking, they put innocent lives at risk. With revelers celebrating America’s independence, this holiday is one of the most dangerous nights to be on the road. Impaired driving spikes over the Fourth of July, with fatal crashes 25% higher than average — yet many still take the risk instead of choosing a safe ride home.

To help prevent one of the most common causes of fatal crashes, Pemberton Personal Injury Law Firm is offering free sober rides across Wisconsin. The goal is to keep the roads safe and help everyone get home alive.

Why Pemberton Is Paying for Your Lyft Ride

As experienced Wisconsin personal injury lawyers, the team at Pemberton represents victims of car crashes, especially those caused by drunk drivers. After witnessing the heartbreak these tragedies cause, the firm is taking action to stop them before they happen.

“Helping people avoid a DUI is just as important as representing victims after a crash. The heartbreak and devastation drunk driving accidents cause are entirely preventable. If one ride saves a life, this effort will be worth every penny, and we’re happy to do our part to prevent these tragedies.

– William Pemberton, Owner and Founding Attorney.

Who can claim a free Lyft ride from Pemberton?

This offer is available to Wisconsin residents who are 21 years or older with an active Lyft account. The ride must start or end in an eligible city during the promo window.

The goal is to reduce DUI-related crashes – something our car accident lawyers see far too often – by helping people get home safely after drinking.

Applying your Lyft promo code takes just a few quick taps:

  1. Open the App: Launch the Lyft app on your mobile device.
  2. Access Your Profile: Tap your profile icon or the menu button (three lines) in the top-left or bottom-right corner of your screen.
  3. Find the Rewards Section: Select Rewards from the menu (or Payments depending on your app version).
  4. Enter the Code: Tap Enter code +. Type or paste your promo code and hit Apply or Done.

How to Apply to a Ride

Once the code is added, the system automatically applies it to your upcoming eligible rides.

  • Verify before booking: Before tapping the “Select Lyft” or ride request button, look at the bottom-left corner of the booking screen. You should see your payment method followed by Promo (e.g., Personal + Promo).

Important Tips

  • Check the details: Every promo code has specific rules. Tap the code in your Rewards tab to check expiration dates, ride limits (e.g., valid only for one ride), and location restrictions.
  • No stacking: Generally, Lyft applies the discount with the highest value automatically. You cannot always combine multiple promotional codes.
  • Add before riding: You must add the promo code before you request your ride in order for it to apply to the fare.

The ride must be taken between 9:00 AM on July 4 and 9:00 AM on July 5, 2026. Outside of this window, the voucher will not work.

Your ride must start or end in one of the eligible cities, including Madison, Milwaukee, Green Bay, Eau Claire, La Crosse, Appleton, Waukesha, Baraboo, or Sun Prairie.
